Thriving or surviving as a freelancer?

I don’t have loads of money but I survive. In terms of money that is. My business thrives (from time to time). But I’m happy just surviving financially.

For me it’s not always about money. Sure, it’s the way the world works. Just try to do anything without it. Regardless, I have a mortgage, a car and food in my belly. I don’t have much money left over at the end of the month, if any. However, I'm rich in other ways. Being freelance, I have more freedom in life, and that’s worth all its weight in gold. I’m free to choose my hours of work. I’m free to do school runs and spend more time with my kids than most parents. Even more so I have a loving family and partner who are all happy and healthy.

So, while I survive financially. I thrive with things money can’t buy. For that, I’m as happy as a pig in muck. I’m doing a job I love and life is ultimately very good. I might not have much muck, but I’m happy. That’s all we should ever really want.

Thanks for reading. Pete :)
